Strato - Sticky Add to Cart

Setup takes about a minute. There is no code to edit and nothing to paste into your theme.

Setting it up

1. Install the app

Install from the Shopify App Store. Installing does not change your storefront yet — nothing appears until you turn the bar on in step 2. This is deliberate: no app of ours changes your live store without you switching it on.

2. Turn the bar on

From the app, click Open theme editor. This takes you to Online Store → Themes → Customize with the right page already open. Then:

1. At the top of the preview, choose a product page.
2. In the left sidebar, open App embeds.
3. Switch Sticky Add to Cart on.
4. Click Save.

Scroll down the preview on the right. The bar should slide up from the bottom once the page's own Add to Cart button scrolls out of view.

3. Check it on a phone

Most shoppers are on phones, and that is where a sticky bar earns its place. Open your store on your own phone and scroll a product page before you call it done.

Settings

All settings live in the theme editor, under the App embed you just switched on.

• Colours — background, text, and button colour, to match your theme.
• Button text — what the button says, for example "Add to cart" or "Buy now".
• When it appears — how far down the page a shopper scrolls before the bar slides in.
• Where it shows — phone only, desktop only, or both.
• Hide for some products — add a product tag and the bar skips those products.

Common problems

The bar does not appear

Usually one of three things:

• It was switched on but not saved. Reopen the theme editor and check for Save.
• You are looking at a page that is not a product page. The bar only shows on product pages.
• It was switched on for a theme you are not currently using. Check you edited your live theme, and that you pressed Save.

There are two bars stacked on top of each other

Some newer themes, including Horizon, have their own sticky add-to-cart built in. If both are switched on you get two bars. Turn one off — either your theme's own setting, or ours. Ours is worth keeping if you want the variant picker inside the bar.

The bar covers something at the bottom of the screen

On iPhones the bar sits above the home indicator by design. If it overlaps a chat widget or cookie banner, raise the scroll distance so the bar appears later, or hide it on desktop where those widgets usually sit.

The wrong price or variant shows

The bar reads whichever variant is selected on the page. If your theme uses an unusual variant picker and the bar does not follow it, email us with your store URL and theme name — this is the one thing that varies most between themes, and we fix these quickly.

Removing the app

Switch the bar off under App embeds in the theme editor, then uninstall from your Shopify admin. Nothing is left behind in your theme files, because we never wrote anything into them.
